Celebrities Score Impressive Gift Baskets
So you think that the best part of being a celebrity is the fame or fortune that comes with being one of the most recognized faces in the world? I disagree. It's all about the free schwag, baby!! It's all about those gift baskets they get at parties or all those Jamba Juices they get to drink for free. High profile people in every niche get some free stuff naturally because, well, that's just smart marketing. Celebs though? I have to think they get the best of the best.
Last year, it was reported that some celebrities scored so much loot, they had to have it shipped to their houses. Now if you're trying to get your brand out there, word of mouth marketing by the glitterati has to be one of the smartest things you can do. It's kind of funny that these people are rich enough to buy anything they want yet they keep being gifted, but again, it's word of mouth! It's big and it's here to stay.
Let's take a look at some recent stuff celebs have scored.
Mink slippers by Taryn Rose, worth about $200.
Reusable produce bag, water bottle, and other eco-friendly items by Essential Safe Products, valued at around $250.00.
Brownies by Naughty Bits Brownies, worth around $50.00.
Simon's Happy Pet Shampoo, worth $15.00.
His And Hers Mace Sets worth $120.00.
Think about some of the unlikely celebrities that you see endorsing products these days, especially in overseas ads that never get shown in the US where they're most famous. Jen Aniston loves some Smart Water. Those British villains are all about a big Jaguar, and who can blame them. Hell, I'd take out a second mortgage to get one of those Jaguars after seeing Thor's Loki hanging out of a helicopter. Big names are seriously big bucks.
What if you can't afford to get a big star to pimp your products? What if they just don't want to? Do it like the rest of the world then, and get your brand on some brain shaped stress balls or other promo products from a company like Quality Logo Products, Epromos, Cafe Press, etc. Find a local celebrity! It doesn't have to be someone famous who's from your local area, just someone notable around town. Maybe there's a great guy who owns a big fat cheesecake shop in town. Maybe you have some seriously awesome bloggers. Maybe, since we're talking about famous people here, you can get the star of a local play to "like" your products.
What do you think will be in the Oscar bags this year? I'm thinking celeb-endorsed products might be mixed in with something new, just to keep it fresh. Eco trends are huge as always, so maybe some vegan Stella McCartney sneakers or plant-based facial scrub. Whatever it is, I'm sure that the stars will eat it up and loads of money will be made by the intrepid marketing team behind it.
