Christian Bale might play a good guy in the box office hit, The Dark Night, but its looking like his real life persona is channeling his characters arch nemesis, The Joker. The actor was arrested on Tuesday after his mother and sister reported him to police for an alleged assault that occurred in his hotel on Sunday. Bale’s mother Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, filed a complaint for the assault to police on Monday but the actor was allowed to attend his London movie premiere that evening before a formal arrest was made. He is said to still be in custody at a central London police station. As of now the family isn't talking.
UPDATE:
Bales attorneys released a statement today that reads: “Christian Bale attended a London police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister. Mr. Bale who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the police. At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr. Bale.”
