Conan O’Brien Gets $32.5 Million Payoff

It's being reported that Conan O’Brien will get $32.5 million to leave The Tonight Show.

The decision came after NBC announced that Jay Leno would be taking over The Tonight Show due to low ratings on his show at 10 pm and low rating's on Conan's Tonight Show.  O'Brien has been pretty open about his negative feelings towards NBC and felt betrayed. It sounds like this deal will pay Conan what he wants and allow him to pursue other projects in the future.

Conan O'Brien Puts The Tonight Show on Craigslist

Last night, Conan O’Brien joked that he’s putting The Tonight Show for sale on Craigslist and it turns out it was no joke! O'Brien posted the ad above on Craigslist under the for sale/wanted > collectibles category in Los Angeles. Titled “4 SALE: BARELY-USED LATE NIGHT TALK SHOW.”  He specifies he will sell it for the best offer or trade the show Coldplay tickets.

Conan O'Brien Quits The Tonight Show!

Conan O'Brien is done with NBC and The Tonight Show. The comedian issued an official statement about the debacle NBC has created involving their late night line up.

Conan states that, "Last Thursday, NBC executives told me they intended to move the Tonight Show to 12:05 to accommodate the Jay Leno Show at 11:35. For 60 years the Tonight Show has aired immediately following the late local news. I sincerely believe that delaying the Tonight Show into the next day to accommodate another comedy program will seriously damage what I consider to be the greatest franchise in the history of broadcasting." He goes on to say that, "I cannot participate in what I honestly believe is its destruction. Some people will make the argument that with DVRs and the Internet a time slot doesn’t matter. But with the Tonight Show, I believe nothing could matter more."

Conan O'Brien is set the leave NBC for Fox!

The Tonight Show host is apparently pretty upset that Jay Leno will be moving back to his 11:30 time slot since his 10 pm show has been canceled. A source told the NY Post that "This level of sh- - -iness was not expected. He's done a great job for NBC. He moved his entire staff, he moved his family to LA. And five months later, they repay him like this?" Also, O'Brien has been in serious talks with Fox to create his own show on the only major network without a late night show.

NBC Cancels The Jay Leno Show

NBC has just confirmed that Jay Leno's 10 pm show has been canceled! 

Leno's 10 pm show will go off the air next month when the Olympics begin. Then, he will take over Conan O'Brien's 11:30 time slot for at least the first 30 minutes. NBC chairman Jeff Gaspin wants to push Conan and Jimmy Fallon back an hour so things will go back to the way they were, however that's not a done deal just yet.
