Comedian Greg Giraldo Is Dead

Comedian Greg Giraldo is dead.

Giraldo died today at the age of 44 of a drug overdose. TMZ reports that he was hospitalized five days ago in New Brunswick, NJ after an overdose of prescription pills during a wild party. It's also being reported that the drug overdoes was an accident and not a suicide attempt. A source has said, "Greg passed away today at the hospital in New Brunswick as a result of an accidental overdose. His family was by his side." Several colleagues have chimed in on his death like Jimmy Kimmel who said, “Greg Giraldo was a great and funny man" and Dane Cook who said, “Greg Giraldo may you RIP. My thoughts & prayers go to his family, friends & fans."

Greg Giraldo In Critical Condition After Drug Overdose

Comedian Greg Giraldo is in critical condition after a drug overdose.

The comedian and judge on Last Comic Standing reportedly overdosed on prescription pills in New Jersey. He was in town for a few performances at the Stress Factory comedy club in New Brunswick and overdosed during a wild party in his hotel room. A source said that the party was out of control and that, "It was like a zoo here." He was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in nearby New Brunswick. Giraldo's rep issued a statement denying reports of a suicide attempt, "It was an accidental overdose, and he is in critical condition."

Giraldo actually has past issues with drug abuse and performed at the New York Recovery Rally at Randall's Island Park in NYC earlier that day to mark National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month.
