Simon Cowell is leaving American Idol!

During a press conference in Pasadena, California, Cowell officially announced that he is leaving America Idol to bring the hit British show X Factor to America. “I’m doing X Factor in America because I believe I can find someone incredibly talented through this process. This country, thank God, has got thousands and thousands of people still waiting to be discovered. Paula Abdul Joins Simon Cowell On X Factor

Paula Abdul Joins Simon Cowell On X Factor

It's being reported that Simon Cowell has hired Paula Abdul as a judge for the American version of his hit British talent show The X Factor.

Abdul recently left her American Idol job because they wouldn't pay her $20 million. X Factor will reportedly pay her $4.5 million, not bad for someone desperate for a new gig. This is big move for the American version of X Factor, which will take Simon Cowell away from American Idol after this season. It looks like we will once again see the dynamic duo of Simon and Paula at the judges table!

Readers, are you happy that Simon and Paula with reunite on X Factor?

Simon Cowell Leaving American Idol

It's being reported that Simon Cowell is leaving American Idol. Cowell is leaving the popular show to launch a U.S. version of his British hit music contest The X Factor.

The Times of London reports that Cowell has been in talks with the Fox to bring X Factor to the U.S. in 2011. "There are discussions going on with 'American Idol' and also about the possibility of bringing 'X Factor' to the United States, but no decisions have been made, and nothing has been finalized," Cowell's spokesman said. The success of X Factor in Britain hasn't gone unnoticed by U.S. networks who want to take advantage of a hot show as soon as they can.

Cowell $40 million per season contract with Idol expires in May so this season could be the last for him. No word yet if they will try to replace Cowell or end the show all together.

American Idol Offers Simon Cowell The Big Bucks

Page Six is reported that American Idol Judge, Simon Cowell, has been offered $100-$144 million to return as judge for the hugely popular show.

Cowell made $36 million last year for judging the hit show but that number is about to go through the roof if he decides to return. All of these numbers sound extremely high but American Idol did bring in about $900 million last year so a mere $144 million doesn't seem to much for the shows star.

Quick Fact
It seems that the machines are winning in this digital age where voice-to-text is so prevalent. Many have abandoned the professional services of transcribers because they think that Androids and iPhones do much better jobs at documenting conversations. We are proud to say that the masses are wrong. A recent experiment placed man against machine in the battle for the accuracy and man, professional transcribers that is, defeated the competition. Whereas the machine mistook the word "ago" for "I go," professional transcribers had a knack for hearing and correctly interpreted the text. The playing field between man and technology is a bit more leveled.
